Psychiatry
I'm Kris Haukoos. I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and am nationally board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am licensed in Florida, Iowa, New Mexico, Idaho, and Washington. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Florida and my Post-Masters of Science in Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nursing at Florida Atlantic University.

I specialize in treating patients with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I work with children, teens, young adults, and clients up to age 60. Child psychiatry services start at age 6. I have additional training in maternal mental health and treatment of postpartum depression and anxiety. Additionally, I have a passion for working with neurodivergent clients and helping families with special needs students to navigate the IEP and 504 process.
My philosophy is that the client, their family (when applicable) and I are a team. Medication decisions are made in collaboration with the client and are tailored to the client’s specific needs, lifestyle, health status, and their personal concerns. Medication treatment plans and therapy sessions are focused on the client’s goals for their mental health. My therapy approach is Solutions-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Therapy is focused on the clients needs and their goals for their mental health.
In my non-working life, I am a Florida native and live in Mount Dora, Florida. I am married to my husband, Dana, and we share three children and a hyperactive Boston Terrier. I enjoy hiking, knitting, road tripping around the U.S., and obsessing over college football.

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation
$165
During your 90-minute evaluation, we will review your medical history, your family history, your symptoms, and the history behind what you are experiencing. A diagnosis will be made and discussed with you in depth. We will review treatment options and create a plan that works best for you.
Psychiatric Follow-up Visits
$80
During your 30-minute follow-up, we will review your treatment plan and medications. The goal of these visits is to determine how you are tolerating your medications, what symptoms remain untreated, and what adjustments do we need to make. This is also a time for you to ask questions and discuss your concerns.
Initial Therapy Evaluation
$120
During your 60 minute visit, we will review your symptoms and the history behind what you’ve been experiencing. We’ll discuss your therapy goals and will begin the therapy process during this visit. It occurs in the day to day as you try to develop or use these new skills.
Therapy Follow-up Visits
